KNOX CITY — Crowell and Knox City got into a classic six-man shootout Friday night with three quarterbacks and two offenses just trading blows.

The Wildcats proved its better to have two capable passers and a multitude of weapons as Seth Bearden never blinked and Crowell (6-1) earned a 95-73 victory. Bearden, the reigning state golf champion, showed he's pretty good at team sports, too. He hit 11 of 16 passes for 260 yards and five touchdowns while sidekick Michael Reeves was 10 of 13 for 202 yards and three TD passes.

Knox City's Abraham Nevarez was terrific as well. He accounted for nine total touchdowns as he passed for 218 yards on 18 of 31 passes, five touchdowns and two interceptions and added 205 yards rushing on 24 carries and four touchdowns. The Greyhounds (3-4) also got four catches and three TDs from Andrew Casillas.


Crowell and Knox City combined for 168 points and more than 1,100 yards. Crowell had 710 of them and averaged 13.9 yards per play. The Greyhounds had 452. They'll have anoth... Click here to read full article
